7th Annual Charity Walk 2009

It was an event organised by Sponsoring Lion Clubs with the help of Leo Club of Petaling Jaya, Leo Club of Damansara Jaya, Leo Club of Taman SEA, Leo Club Of SMK Assunta, Leo Club of Taylor's College, Leo Club Of IMU, Leo Club of Taman Petaling etc

It was a successful event with some of us being blindfolded and being lead along the 3KM walk. It was frightening yet fun. Below are some pictures, enjoy. =)

Brief Description: This competition is held not just to provide a chance for the students to have fun and to create closer bonds among one another, but also with the objective to raise funds for any community service project that will be held by Leo Club in the future. Besides, through this competition, participants will be able to learn how to work together as a group as well.

BLIND LEADING THE BLIND

Dear all,

The BLB(Blind Leading the Blind) campaign is here and some of the Leo club members, including me, will raise funds for the cataract operations and sight-related diseases for the poor and needy. Anyone can donate as much money as you want due to your willingness. In addition, those who volunteers to donate above RM200 will receive a TAX EXEMPTION receipt on request.

Furthermore, there's an event going to held called the 7th Annual Charity Walk. The details are as follows:

Date: 19 April 2009/Sunday
Time: 7.30am
Venue: Dewan Sivik Petaling Jaya(near MPPJ)

The Blind or visually impaired will lead the sighted but blindfolded on the 3KM walk, thus giving the sighted the opportunity to EXPERIENCE blindness to value sight and to appreciate teamwork and have fun and raise the much needed funds for the poor who cant afford the eye operations. Anyone who wishes to join the charity walk are welcome.

2) Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital(in sponsoring cataract operations and sight related diseases for the poor and needy)

4) Campaign Sight First II

For sight-related disease patients who did operation in other hospitals, they were charged RM3000-RM6000 for one eye. However, in Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital, they only charge RM500-Rm600 for the patients who need operations.

Anyone can choose to donate to the poor and needy due to their willingness. :)

ECA Day

Date: 2nd April, Thursday
Time: 3pm-430pm

Members are required to lend a hand during ECA Day as we would be targetting 80 new recruits for the new intakes. Credits would be given to those that helped out. Members are expected to set up booth and provide information to parties whom are interested to join. All students regardless of courses and intakes are welcomed.

Greetings,
As aforementioned , a General Meeting would be held at the coming Friday. Attendance are compulsory and all existing members are expected to be present. Members will be made redundant upon failure to be present with insufficient reasons. Do take note.
Club Lion-Lion Christopher would be present along with the president of the sponsoring Lion Club and therefore meeting are expected to be carried out professionally and of respect.
