Suggestion for Projects to be Done in Fiscal Year 2009-2010

Hey guys, it has been a few days since I have posted something on this blog.

As one of the main direction of the club this year is members development, hopefully that each and every member of the club will be able to be activiely involve in the club and if can, take part in the organising committee and the best will be be the OC for any projects. Suggestions for projects to be done is mostly welcomed! Anyone who feels taht he or she would like to take up the responsibility can let me know about it. The project need not to be something big! It can be things as simple as Orphanage Visit. Remember that while organising thse projects, you will be able to learn something. No matter big or small, it will definitely help you to develop the intermal potential that is within you! On the other hand, no project are to large scale to be organised. If you have any thoughts on any projects, no matter large scale or small scale, do let me know either by emailing me @ tchengwong91@hotmail.com or bring it out for discussion doin the next general meeting.

If you do not feel that you would want to organise the project in your mind but will like it to turn out to be something in the history, do let me know as well!

If you have no idea at all on what project to be done but are keen to be the OC, you can also tell me or if you want to find any idea. it is always a good thing to do to log on to the websites or blogs of other Leo Clubs. How to get there? Very simple, just log on leo308b2.blogspot.com and you can go to a lot of useful webpages from there. Please wait patiently until we link all those webpages one by one.

* You need not plan the project in your mind in details first, a brief description will do until the project is at least 3 months away from being carried out.

Your suggestions are very much appreaciated. Thank you.

Comment Please!

Hello everyone, as I have promised all of you all before, if I were to be given the chance, there are a few programs that I will be carrying out with the aim to bring the club to a greater heights and to allow the members to gain the most from joining the club in terms of soft skills such as leadership skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills and so on. below are the details of some of the programs that I have proposed.

1) 'Member In A Ship'

BODs in charge :

Leo Hoe Yu Li, Leo Emily

Brief Description :

Each and every BOD members will be taking care of a few members in terms of their involvement in the club, attendance for meeting, comments on the club matters and so on. The list of the members whom the BODs will be in charge of will be out by 1st July 2009. According to the membership list now, one BOD will be in charge of around 4-5 members. The main objective of introducing this program is to make sure that the relationship between BODs and members can be closer and to ensure that members will be kept updated about the happenings of the clubs.

2) 'Member of the Month'

BODs in charge:

Leo Wong Tze Cheng, Leo Neo Cheng Ze

Brief description:

From July 2009 onwards, for each month, one of the members of the club will be selected as the Member of the Month. Decision on the member chosen will be based on the attendance of the member in meetings, the involvement of the member in projects organised in the month and so on. The Member of the Month will be awarded a certificate as well as a small token of appreciation. The main objective of this program is to give the members a chance to prove their ability as well as to ensure that the efforts that all of you all have put into the club are awarded accordingly.

3) 'Sponsor A Member'

BODs in charge: Leo Gan Weh Kiat, Leo Ang Xian Hui

Brief Description:

This is a new but old way of bringing in new members. Existing members of the club will automatically be the ambassadors of the club and will be in charge of bringing in new members. Knowing the benefits of joining the club, you guys are the best person to tell the others on how you have benefited from the club and presuade them to join the club. Just try to imagine, if each and every member of the club are able to bring in one new member, our membership will be doubled! If that were to happen, there will be more big events that we can carry out without the need to worry about the manpower. When a new member is brought in, the member who has brought him/her in will be awarded with a small token of appreciation. This program will start from the 1st July 2009.

4) Key Performance Index on BODs

BODs in charge: Leo Linda Yii, Leo Yin Shan

Brief Description:

Members will be given the chance to rate the performace of the elected BODs. This means that you will be given the chance to judge what the BODs have done. This is introduced to ensure that the opinions of the members about the performaces of the BODs can be vioced out in a better way. This is also a way that the elected BODs will know how well they have perform and how happy the members are with their performances. This give us a chance to know where has actually went wrong and to correct ourselves before it is too late. The way the survey is to be done is yet to be decided. It will be either through email, online survey or through survey form during meetings. If you have any other suggestions for the way it can be carried out, do let me know. The first survey will be done at the end of July 2009.

5) E-notice, E-minutes and E-report

BOD in charge: Leo Liew Carmen

Brief Description:

Members will receive notices and minutes of meetings held through e-mail. Besides that, meeting notices will also be published on the blog. This is to ensure that you guys will be informed and updated about the events and projects of the clubs. This program will begin in July 2009.

6) Newsletters/ e-Newsletter

BOD in charge: Leo Edwin Ang, Leo Shawn Philip Ooi

Brief Description:

Members will be given the chance to be the editor for each and every issue of the newsletters that will be published from July 2009- June 2010. There will be 4 issues of newsletters that will be published throughout this 12 months period. the first issue will be published in September and there will be a 3 months intervals between each issue. Anyone of you who are interested to be the editor or join the editorial team can let me know.

I think thats all for now. If you have any problems or enquiries, do not hesitate to give me a call @ 017-8893781 or email to tchengwong91@hotmail.com.

Thank you very much.

Lets Roar in Leo Spirit.
